ADHIKAARAM 1: KADAVUL VAAZHTHU – IN PRAISE OF GOD
வேண்டுதல் வேண்டாமை இலானடி சேர்ந்தார்க்கு
யாண்டும் இடும்பை இல.
Vaenduthal vaendaamai ilaanadi saernthaarku
Yaandum idumbai ila
If you worship the feet of God who has no likes or dislikes , you will have no sorrow ever.
Vaenduthal: Likes; Vaendaamai: Dislikes; Ilaan adi: ilaan means He who does not, adi means feet; Saernthaarku: reach and prostrate; Yaandum : always, forever; Idumbai: sorrow; Ila: short for illai which means no or in this case will not have
God has no bias, no likes, no dislikes. If you place all your likes and dislikes, worries and joys at His feet and live life in a balanced manner, you will not suffer ever.
Rudyard Kipling’s poem ‘IF’ explains this perfectly. His immortal lines
“If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;” is just a sample.
