ADHIKAARAM 32: INNAA SEYYAAMAI – NOT DOING EVIL
பிறர்க்கின்னா முற்பகல் செய்யின் தமக்குஇன்னா
பிற்பகல் தாமே வரும்.
Pirarkkinnaa murpagal seyyin thamakkinnaa
Pirpagal thaamae varum
If before noon you harm someone, hurt and sorrow will come visit you in the evening itself.
Pirarkku: others; Innaa: hurt; Murpagal: before noon; Seyyin: if you do; Thamakku: for us; Pirpagal: afternoon; Thaamae: by itself; Varum: will come.
Kural 319 speaks about Karma.
If you knowingly harm someone, even if that person does not retaliate, you will still get your due. Hurt and sorrow will follow you. Valluvar does not issue a dire warning; he is merely reminding us in a matter of fact manner that ‘what goes around comes around.’
So give a ear to that conscience – dormant or otherwise ; think positive thoughts; do good deeds. You will feel good about yourself and goodness will follow.
